However, the hospital administrator, who happens to be a close friend of mine, did not allow this for some reasons. I did not question my friend’s decision; rather I had to change the project of the students. Hospitals do not allow anyone to have access on their records. How much more the court or any judicial institutions for that matter?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8139998.post-49829814711814736412007-07-10T18:27:00.000-04:002007-07-10T18:27:00.000-04:00Though I can certainly understand the desire on th...Though I can certainly understand the desire on the part of the press and public for access to these proceedings, I can also understand the court’s decision in this matter. If, as the court suggests, one of the primary reasons for this particular procedure is to work through some mediating strategies, a public presence might be detrimental to the process. Of course, for those assigned to keep the government including the judiciary honest, it can seem as though something fishy might be going on behind the scenes, but ultimately we have allowed our judicial system over the years to develop a process of negotiation. We may decry this aspect of the system, but it is the system we have evolved. I do think, though, that such cases will continue to be brought, given that we have become a society that – in an age of technology – believes in “recordable” accountability.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
