I just learned that Bob Dushman, the highly regarded Boston media lawyer who defended the Boston Herald at trial in the Judge Ernest Murphy libel case, died July 27 at the age of 59. Bob was a partner with Brown Rudnick and had represented the Herald for more than two decades. The Stanford Law graduate died of lung cancer. He will be missed.

It is interesting to note the success of seeking relief against municipal officials in the individual capacity. See for example City v. Patinkin (07-cv-000482, S.D. Ind.) in which Patinkin successfully pled claims against Stacee Evans, an attorney for Student Legal Services, relating to her participation in a conspiracy with William J. Beggs (Bill Beggs), an attorney from the Bloomington, Indiana, firm of Bunger & Robertson.
Bob was a great lawyer and a good man. He'll be sorely missed by many.
